LATE SEPTEMBER

Fall is in the air. The days are much shorter, the nights are cool, and the days are crisp and breezy. We’ve actually gotten a little tiny bit of rain, which has made the plants all very happy. What follows are just a couple of snaps I took in the morning while sitting on the deck. One flower I always take for granted is impatience. They brighten up the deck and are so dependable, but I very rarely take pictures of them. They deserve a lot of credit for giving me color in the backyard where it is always shady. So here are just some shots of things that are happening now. One of the bright spots in the backyard all of the wild asters. They basically add lots and lots of bright white joy in fall. They will bloom anywhere. And they spread like crazy.

PURPLE ROSE…?

Lots of fall flowers..wild aster, goldenrod, zinnias, and white snakeroot.

But first..my new purple rose. It’s not really purple, but it has a delightful fragrance..just like an heirloom rose. Thanks to Cliff for digging the hole!

Zinnia, goldenrod, blackeyed Susan, wild aster, butterfly bush, polka dot plant, snapdragons.

The blanket actually does say Nancy’s Beautiful Flowers!

Just zinnias.

The most beautiful blessings in my life.

MORE RECENT PAINTINGS

Over the winter I painted a couple of paintings… which I forgot to post. I am using YouTube videos, store-bought canvases, a lovely easel that my family got me for a gift last Christmas, and acrylic paints that I buy online from Walmart. The only time I paint is either on a very rainy day or in the winter. As you might imagine, in the spring, summer and fall I am pretty much occupied with my gardening chores, and I don’t really have time to paint. The paintings I am going to include in this post each took me an entire day… Six straight hours. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a fairly impatient person. This is the reason that I try to finish a painting in one day. Trying to spread it over a couple of days would just be torture for me. So here are two paintings that I made from YouTube videos:
